Warface crashes

August 2019: we have inforamtion that running MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner software causes the game to crash.
Please disable these programs prior starting the game.

If you receive a notice that the client has crashed (stopped responding or quit unexpectedly), it means a critical error occurred while the client was processing data. In most cases, this is due to a malfunction with the memory in which the data was stored.

If you have GeForce Experience installed, go to the software's settings by selecting the gear icon in the upper right corner of the GeForce Experience window, and uncheck the box "Enable experimental features":

To resolve this problem, follow the appropriate instructions below:

Instructions for Windows 7

1. First, close any unnecessary programs.
Before you launch the game, we recommend closing any programs that are not required for Windows to run.
These programs include Internet browsers, torrent trackers, download managers and various monitoring programs that watch system temperatures or hard disk free space, as well as any music or video players.
Also, disable any programs you are using to optimize your computer’s performance (boosters, accelerators, and so on). Despite all the performance benefits they claim, they may cause conflicts with the game.

2. Increase the size of the Windows paging file:

2.1. Go to Control Panel → System and Security → System (or press Win+Pause).
Or:
2.2. Select Advanced System Settings.
2.3. In the System Properties window that opens, go to the Advanced tab and click “Settings” in the Performance section.
2.4. In the new window that opens, go to the Advanced tab, find the VirtualMemory section, and click “Change...”
2.5. Uncheck “Automatically manage paging file size for all drives”, select the drive on which your Windows OS is installed (usually Local Disk C:), select “Custom Size,” and enter 8192 in the “Initial size (MB)” field. Enter 8192 in the “Maximum size (MB)” field, too.

3. Delete the ModelsCache folder
The ModelsCache folder contains temporary game files that speed up the loading of maps, characters, effects, and weapons.
Deleting this folder will free up space on your hard drive for starting the game and force the files to be re-downloaded, eliminating any errors that may have occurred with the temporary files that had been stored in ModelsCache.
To delete this folder:
3.1. Exit the game.
3.2. Press Win+R (or Start → Run).
3.3. Enter the path %userprofile%\Saved Games\My Games\Warface in the Run dialog box. This is a special folder that contains all of your game profile folders. Press Enter (example path: john.smith\Saved Games\My Games\Warface)
3.4. Completely delete the ModelsCache folder.
3.5. Launch the game.

4. Install all important Windows updates.
If the game is crashing, you may not have the latest official Windows updates installed:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2541119
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980932

To install these updates:
1. Click the Hotfix Download Available button.
2. Read and accept the Agreement with Microsoft.
3. Check your operating system and enter your e-mail address twice. An update download link will be sent to this address.
4. Go to your e-mail inbox, open the e-mail from Microsoft, and click the link to download the update.
5. Please look over these additional recommendations, too.

If you’ve followed the recommendations above (closing programs, increasing your paging file size, and deleting ModelsCache) but the game is still crashing, we recommend you look at what operating system you are running and how much memory you have installed.
To do this, go to Control Panel → System and Security → System.

___________

If you are running a 32-bit system, you should reinstall Windows.
We recommend using a 64-bit version of Windows to play the game.
Important note: if you are not knowledgeable enough about computers to reinstall your operating system, please contact a computer specialist.

Good to know!
The total maximum amount of memory available to a 32-bit operating system is 3.25 GB, even if you have 4 GB or more installed. The amount of RAM you have installed can severely affect the game client’s startup speed and overall performance.
